My name is Kevin Staden. All the Box File layouts on this site were constructed by myself.

I'm retired and live somewhere in Devon.

I've had an interest in Model Railways, far more so than the real thing actually, since I was in my early teens. I started back in those very young days modelling in OO. As with most young lads I got distracted, discovered girls(!) and beer so the trains took a rather long hiatus.

On retirement I decided it was time to start up with the hobby again. The children had left home and there was a bit of space begging for a train set (apparently). This time I downsized to N Gauge and absolutely love it... that OO stuff is huge!

My main larger model railway is in a permanent state of flux it seems. I have also made a micro board just 2'7"x19" and last year added to the collection with a layout under glass in a coffee table.

The Box File layouts obsession(!) started in 2019, just prior to the pandemic, which in some ways helped spur me on with those very quiet times hobbies took over like for a while. Sine then, and after a suggestion from my wife, the exhibitions have started which give the excuse for more boxes.

As well as the models, I'm a big Formula One fan, and run my own Fantasy Grand Prix competition, as well as being a music fan, mostly classic and symphonic rock, especially when it involves Deep Purple.

Meanwhile, the discovery of beer and it's delights never left me, and the girls.... I found one!
