The Cleeve Tram Line

The Cleeve Tram Line is made up of five boxes next
to each other lengthways. A single line of track runs through the boxes
from one end (an Industrial area) to the other (a modern Town) passing
through a country area, a canal scene, and an old village with it's
market square, forming an end-to-end style of layout.
Each box is a complete scene in itself bearing no
connection to those next to it other than the linking tram line.
These layouts are built into standard foolscap box
files. Peco track has been used; in four of the boxes it has been
slightly sunk into the base foam board with cobbles running down the
track centre.
Arguably, this is the first set of boxes that have
been built with exhibitions in mind rather than purely for personal
use. The fronts of the boxes have been released so that a better view
may be gained when displayed. The five boxes are powered by one single
controller sent through a shuttle unit. Once started the tram will pass
through all five boxes and after a few seconds return in the opposite
direction, continuously, without the need for further operator
intervention.
Originally made as a set of four boxes. Recently a new box, Henlake Canal, has been added to extend the set.
