IvyTown

Part of 'The Ivy Line'

< Back to 'The Ivy Line'

IvyTown is a small market town, with a terminus station.

Forming one of the end stations of 'The Ivy Line' set of boxes, it's station has two lines with a single platform, and a cattle-dock.

To the rear of the box is the high street, featuring a number of small shops along with the 'Dancer And The Moon' pub. These all feature internal lighting. Across the road it is market day with a few market stalls and a burger bar selling their wares.

The station building features hanging baskets and the platform has various flower boxes in bloom.

Across the line there is a small brewery. This has been built with a removable chimney because it is taller than the box lid. A brewery lorry is being loaded and several barrels await collection from the brewery.

The railway enters the box under a viaduct. On top of this is another railway line.

All of the buildings are Metcalfe kits. The station building is actually the S&C Waiting Room kit but it now has a door and windows on both sides.

The box is (obviously!) cut open at one end to create the railway lines entrance.

The single point is operated via 'wire in tube' from the back of the box.

The low relief shops lights are an LED string with the small battery box and switch at the back of the box. All track is Peco.

Whilst most locos will run along the line, it's usually a GWR Railcar.
