Lord's Chapel
Part of 'The Purple Line'
< Back to 'The Purple Line'
Lord's Chapel is named after former keyboardist Jon Lord. It
was originally going to be called Lord's Junction, but when i
had problems joining two track across the boxes the junction was
removed.... A lesson learnt, don't used flimsy boxes next time!!
Along the back are two Metcalfe low relief terrace house kits
which have been made at half their depth here. The little chapel
is a ScaleModelRailway's laser cut wood kit, the first of theirs
that I've tried. It is based on the chapel in Hayle, Cornwall.
A small road leads down to two cottages, one has a garage,
the other a greenhouse.
The track is two peco curves arranged in a switchback style,
leading from the back of the box to front and out to Gloverton.
In front of the track is the Perfect Strangers pub, that is
holding it's ever popular real ale festival. The tent/marquee
was scratch built some time ago, so time to give it a purpose!
The beer garden has various tables, barrels and crates and there
is a small barbeque on the go.
At the front left of the box is a small part of an allotment
- something had to go there!
