Riverdell
Part of 'The Pier Line'
< Back to 'The Pier Line'
Up until recently this was the second box, next to Parre.
However the Quarry has now slotted between the two boxes, and
Riverdell becomes the third, and centre box.
Originally I planned this to be quite open and sparse, but as
I built it, more things appeared! It still retains my original
idea of a countryside scene, but it's inhabitants seem quite
busy!
The central theme is the river that appears to continue from
the photo on the backscene. As the water tumbles down under the
tram lines bridge, it splits into two small rivers. This creates
three distinct sections to the box.
The centre triangle has the boxes only building, a tiny
cottage. This was created from a free OO building given away
with the Railway Modeller, made by Metacalfe models. It has been
scanned and then resized for N Gauge.
The left side of the box has a hillside. The local car club
are holding a vintage car rally and have a large marquee. In
front of it are several vintage cars. These are white metal
models by P&D Marsh. The Union Flag was a later addition
after a friend and former scout leader said that all scout camps
would have one.... so I added it, and got it up the wrong way
before correcting it!
The right-hand side features a scout camp. The scouts are
again white metal, this time by Langley models. A small road
bridge connects this side to the cottage triangle.
