The Individual Boxes

Most of the layouts in this section are self contained oval layouts.

It's fair to say that the ovals use a very tight curve. To achieve this Kato track has been used with their 117mm (4 19/32") radius track.

There is a limit as to what will manage these curves, so it's mostly 04 Shunters and Terriers, an 08 Shunter will manage it at a push!. Kato also make their Pocketline series so they are used here and there as well for some variety. Short wheelbase wagons is pretty much all that runs in these boxes. Although there is a large variety available.

Each of the ovals is built into a 'Q-Connect' boxfile. These are slightly wider than the more readily available foolscap boxes.
